In Year 5, we celebrated National Poetry Day on Thursday. After discussing what makes a poem, we watched a fantastic reading of Sandwich by Valerie Bloom which had the children transfixed throughout. After discussing why her reading was so engaging, we tried it ourselves, reading a different poem at the front of the class to our peers.
