Digital Leaders

Our Digital Leaders are here to help make sure that staying safe online is part of everyday life at our school. The children work together to help others understand how to make positive choices when using technology, communicating online and exploring the digital world.

This year, our Digital Leaders will focus on helping everyone in our school community to feel confident, informed and responsible when using technology. They will listen to what children think and experience online, share important e-safety messages and help to make sure that online safety is promoted across the whole school, not just during Computing lessons.

Our Digital Leaders will support online safety by:

  • Sharing termly newsletters with helpful hints and tips about e-safety, including trusted websites and resources for children and families to use at home and in school
  • Listening to pupil voice and using children’s ideas and experiences to help plan and deliver engaging whole-school assemblies
  • Promoting the SMART rules throughout school and across the curriculum, helping children to put these important messages into practice every day
  • Planning and supporting e-safety coffee mornings and meetings for parents and carers, helping families to feel confident about supporting children online
  • Helping children to recognise potential risks online and understand what they can do, and who they can talk to, if something online makes them feel worried or uncomfortable
  • Being positive role models for safe, kind and responsible use of technology

Through their work, our Digital Leaders will help us to create a school community where everyone understands that being safe online is everyone’s responsibility.
