SJSJ Student Government

Our Student Government representatives help to listen to and represent the voices of pupils across our school.

This year, we will focus on ensuring that everyone has the opportunity to share their ideas, feel heard and play an active part in making St John and St James a safe, caring and welcoming community. Our aim is to listen to what pupils want to see change and work together to make small but meaningful improvements that benefit our whole school community.

The Student Government will work alongside staff and pupils to identify areas where we can make a positive difference, ensuring that children have a voice in the decisions and improvements that affect their everyday school life. We will focus on building a stronger sense of responsibility, kindness and community by supporting one another and helping to make our school a better place for everyone.

The Student Government will support our school community this term by:

  • Listening to student feedback about changes they would like to see through a Student Government Ideas Box, giving everyone an opportunity to share their suggestions

  • Beginning a buddy system with younger children to help them play safely, build friendships and feel supported during playtimes

  • Introducing a Lost Property Bin in the playground to help children look after their belongings and make it easier for lost items to be returned to their owners
