Following our achievement of the Silver Rights Respecting Schools Award, this year we will build on this success and continue to make children’s rights an important part of everyday school life. Our aim is for every child to understand their rights, respect the rights of others and feel that their voice is valued and heard. The Ambassadors will work alongside Miss Al-Sahar to raise awareness of the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child and encourage our whole school community to create a kind, inclusive and respectful environment.
The Rights Respecting Ambassadors will support our school by:
- Leading assemblies, activities and events about children’s rights
- Helping children understand and celebrate their rights
- Gathering pupil voice and sharing children’s ideas
- Working with classes across the school to promote rights and responsibilities
- Creating displays and resources to celebrate children’s rights
- Encouraging kindness, fairness, respect and inclusion
- Helping every child feel listened to, valued and included
Through our work, we hope to empower children to use their voices, understand their rights and make a positive difference to our school community.
