This week in Year 4, we have been exploring electricity and discovering how circuits work! We began by identifying the key components needed to make a complete circuit, including wires, bulbs, batteries and switches. We learned how electricity flows around a circuit to light a bulb and explored how a switch can be used to turn the flow of electricity on and off. We also investigated conductors and insulators, discovering why metal allows electricity to pass through while plastic helps to keep us safe.
We then put our learning into action by working in pairs to build our very own electrical circuits! We experimented with the different components, using our problem-solving skills and teamwork to make our bulbs light up. There was lots of excitement as we successfully completed our circuits and brought our scientific learning to life!
