This week, Year 1 spent some time reflecting on our Word of the Week – Mindful. They talked about how being mindful means being present and paying attention to what is happening in our minds, our bodies and the world around us. The children shared their ideas about why being mindful is important and how it can help us to feel calm, focused and ready to learn.
We then took part in some mindful breathing, using slow, gentle breaths to help us pause, reset our minds and relax our bodies. The children enjoyed having a quiet moment to focus on their breathing and noticed how this helped them feel more settled and ready for learning.
