This week in Year 4, we went on an exciting Black History Walk with Dalston Library! We explored the local area and discovered how Dalston has been shaped and influenced by the rich histories, cultures and contributions of Black people over time. The children were fascinated to learn about the people, places and stories that are part of the history right on our doorstep.

Using a special booklet, the children became history detectives, searching for hidden clues and carefully observing their surroundings to uncover more about Dalston’s past. It was a fantastic opportunity for the children to learn beyond the classroom, ask questions and make connections between what they saw and what they had learned. We are incredibly proud of their enthusiasm, curiosity and excellent behaviour throughout the walk!
