This week in Year 1, the children have been continuing to read their key text in writing – Between Tick and Tock – focusing on learning about how to use and identify verbs in a sentence. To immerse themselves into the story, the class began by using familiar images from the book to discuss the range of actions that they could see taking place across the busy city and took part in some role play to ensure that they had personal experiences of these, before using the verbs to orally build a simple sentence.
